Junior Girls Launch
SYCUCC is proud to launch our junior girls teams in 2024/25. We have been building to these teams over the past few years as it provides a pathway from our
Master Blasters to our women’s team.
SYCUCC will be supporting the development of a junior girls competition with
Shepparton Cricket Association (SCA) and are aiming to have a under 10, 12 and 15 teams in the future (hopefully 24/25).
Initially the aims are to start a come and try day, progressing to training squads and then creating a competition with Shepparton and local town teams. SYCUCC is aiming to be a foundation club of the girls competition.
Welcome
Sophie Ullah and Mel Saunders will be the coaches of this team, supported by Chris Barclay, who is also leading the SCA sub-committee to develop this exciting new competition. Stephen Pinnuck, will be supporting and coordinating these teams as well, as our junior coordinator.
Sophie Ullah is our first female international player and has developed and coached junior girls teams in England with her home club. Sophie will also be playing with our senior women’s (Sunday) and men’s teams (Saturday).
Sophie and along with our senior players, including our other 3 import players, will be part of our junior academy coaching panel as well, which will also be available for our girls to join. This has been operating in 2023/24 so we are off and flying.
